Tragedy struck the soccer world when 35 year old captain Phil O’Donnell died suddenly after collapsing in a match. O’Donnell played for Motherwell of Ireland. The tragic event happened during a match against Dundee United in the Scottish Premier League.

The new ‘intelligent’ soccer ball makes the refereeing a little easier by determining if the ball goes out of bounds. The Adidas company is producing these footballs for the upcoming World Cup in South Africa.
