Arsenal and Chelsea - cheap labour?

by Sack the Juggler on September 25th, 2006

You have to feel sorry for the Arsenal and Chelsea players.  It can’t be easy trying to set up home in London, but if we are to beleive Ballack and Gallas, living and “working” in London can be a nightmare.

Firstly Ballack tells us that he can’t afford to buy a house in London so he’s going to rent a place instead.  Does this man not have a financial advisor?  He can’t afford to spend £4m on a house, so he’s going to spend £25,000 a month on an exclusive pad.  Can someone tell him that his mortgage repayments on £4m would only be £20,000 and with the £5,000 he saved every month he could get his hair cut!

Gallas has a slightly different problem, he has a house, but since changing jobs he’s now got a 90 minute drive to the training ground, which means he has to leave his house at 8.00am every morning.  Now telling everyone this is going to piss people off for two reasons; 1) most people who work in London have to leave for work a lot earlier and 2) he gets paid shed loads but doesn’t have to start work until 9.30am!

Not to be outdone in the “I’m too thick to have all this money” stakes, Mr Gallas then tells us that his problems will be solved sometime in the new year when he buys a house closer to the training ground, until then he will have to suffer the injustice of getting up so early each day…

…or he could just rent a place close to the training ground until he has sold his place and bought a new one?  I know it must be difficult having to spend his hard earned money just so he gets a lie in each morning, but I’d rather he did that than hear him moaning about his 8 o’clock start!
