Ben Thatcher Elbow Video - Just So Everyone Knows What An Animal He Is

by Alan on August 24th, 2006

Here’s the video everyone can’t bear to watch twice from last night’s Manchester City v Portsmouth game where Ben Thatcher of City finally proved once and for all that he is a despicable thug without an ounce of footballing talent or morality in his entire body.

Those unfortunate enough to follow his poor excuse for a career will know that this isn’t the first act of Grievous Bodily harm he has inflicted on another player on the pitch and if he isn’t stopped (and in my own view jailed for this assault which would never go unpunished off the football pitch) then he will do it again and who knows what the outcome will be next time.

Pedro Mendes (his victim) was knocked unconscious on impact and had a seizure as the physios tried to resuscitate him on the touchline. My heart goes out to Pedro and I wish him a speedy recovery. My disgust goes out to Ben Thatcher and his apologist manager Stuart Pearce and I hope to never see him on a professional football pitch again.

Mr. Thatcher, you are nothing but scum.

First time I’ve actually seen what happened, and yes its disgusting and it appears to be deliberate. He wasn’t jumping for the ball, or even anywhere near it when he slams his elbow into Mendes’s jaw. If his speed wasn’t enough to cause damage then he gets a bit of extra leverage on the blow by leaning into it at the last second.

Elbow blows are banned from most contact sports, including cage fighting because of the damage they can cause. If this isn’t acted upon either by the police or the FA then there is something seriously wrong with the game.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — Ben Thatcher shouldn’t be allowed near a football pitch ever again. Quite blatent assault.

I had the same reaction when I saw the Stuart Pearce interview after the game and I can only hope that his words were due to him not actually seeing the replay at that time — if not then he shouldn’t be in charge of a football team.

This is a terrible ‘attack’ on the head of Pedro Mendes!! 8 matches (+15) banded is maybe not enough, he deserves much more.

Last year a player of my club Go Ahead Eagles (Dutch 1st division) lost one of his players due to this ‘terrorist attack’ of a player from Sparta Rotterdam…link to the movie is here:

(Really watch out, this is sick)
