Cassano Flees
One of the few footballers who is such a pain in the ass that his presence is actually distracting enough to make fans forget his talent and boo his sorry ass off the pitch (whew) has finally left Italy altogether. For Real Madrid, of course. Because exactly what a club as unsettled and completely screwed up as Real needs is Antonio Cassano. Well, if nothing else it’ll be fun to watch them melt down even further.
Any bets on how long it’ll be before he gets booed at home? I say if they don’t make a run right now and he hasn’t score by his second game at The Bernabeu, he’s going to be in trouble. That said, though, Real fans are weirdly loyal - witness, for example, their refusal to dump on poor Jonathan Woodgate, no matter how many own goals he scores or matches he misses. So who knows? They just might end up embracing the little bastard.

Woody’s alright! He scores and lets in goals! Imagine that! A defender turned striker, but only at his own end. Yeah Real fans are loyal. I mean look at “supersize me” Ronaldo. He must be on a training diet of Mcdonald burgers and a large Coke. Hec some of the beer belly types we get at Charlton are more fit than him.
