England Plans In Turmoil As Lampard Declared Fit To Play
Regular readers may know that I have little time for Frank Lampard, the alleged third best player in the world or whatever non-entity award he DIDN’T win recently and his performances to date in the World Cup have so far proven me right.
He’s a one trick pony of international proportions with his one golden arrow being an ability to shoot from long range and occasionally score, unless he’s wearing an England shirt it seems. I know many England fans who agree with me completely that he can’t pass forward, only sideways or back, can’t tackle and if you had an average of twenty shots on goal every game you’d eventually hit the jackpot as well. If he played for anyone other than the Blue Menace he’d never be mentioned in the same breath as Ronaldinho and other true world greats.
Reports had suggested that Lampard would be injured for England’s World Cup quarter final game against Portugal this weekend, sadly (for England fans) it now seems that he’ll be fit after all and with there being no chance of Sven dropping either his fanboys Lampard or David Beckham, England stand less of a chance of going through. The Spurs tinted glasses are in storage until the start of the season but surely Michael Carrick and Aaron Lennon deserve a run out in place of these two media darlings who don’t quite live up to their inflated reputations.

You do realise that Becks is responsible for 3 of the 6 goals we’ve scored right? The other 3 are from Gerrard and Cole.
So while I agree with the Lennon and Carrick bit, dropping Beckham when he’s had a hand in half your team’s goals is a bit unfair.

I have to agree with Ahmed. Beckham’s lucky right shoe is the only hope this boring side have. Unless you this the inclusion of someone in his place might actually liven the whole side up. I’m afraid Sven will need to swap out more than just two to do that.
