Klinsmann Set To Resign As Germany Coach
After a World Cup third place finish completely beyond anyone in Germany’s wildest expectations, Jurgen Klinsmann now looks certain to turn down the offer of an extended stay as German coach and resign from the post.
The subject of much vilification before the tournament, Klinsmann has again won over his critics and been returned to his previous national hero status after a series of entertaining and impressive displays from his team before falling at the semi final stage to eventual World Cup winners Italy.
Whether Jurgen will decide to stay in football now is unknown although I’m sure there will be no shortage of clubs looking to make him an offer he may find hard to turn down, despite his apparent reluctance to leave his Los Angeles base and return to Europe. Adding an impressive spell as Germany coach to an already glittering CV has done Klinsmann’s reputation no harm at all and with a very open, honest and direct personality, the former Spurs, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan striker would make a great coach or sporting director at any of the top European clubs.
Maybe someday he’ll surprise us all and come back to White Hart Lane and give us all a new set of memories like those of his twp previous spells in the white jersey as a player. Jurgen, you’re one of the top men in football and whatever you do next I wish you the very best.

Might not hurt. The US women’s team do have the desire to attack a goal, a trait sorely lacking last month.
