Chase Hilgenbrinck, a defender from the New England Revolution’s has quite his team to join the priesthood. The Revolution’s have just won Group B of the 2008 North America SuperLiga against Santos Laguna (who are the current winners of the Mexican Championships).
It’s hard to wonder why a 26 year old Boston native would give up the chance of being a true Major League Soccer champion for a highly underpaid, celebratory profession?
Sorry to see you go Chase.

Your idea of summer might be different, but what’s better than kicking around a soccer ball to pass the time away. Some of my best memories were of just having fun in the parks of France playing with local kids. Though, they always seemed to be better than me.
Some people have said that soccer is a children’s sport and that it shouldn’t be played professionally. Yeah, well **** them! Soccer needs to emerge in North America from a children’s sport into the global craze that it is!
Let me know what great summer fun means to you?
You can get this Nike Mercurial Veloci soccer ball at Soccer Pro for $123.50

It’s too bad that we don’t get to see most of these great soccer commercials on mainstream television. This commercial is a great one featuring the entire Brazil National football team. Watch some of their fancy footwork.
