Stevie Gerrard - master of the obvious…
Steven Gerrard is perhaps one of the greatest midfielders this country has ever produced, sublimely gifted and Liverpool’s top goal scorer in recent seasons, but perhaps his greatest triumphs will remain on the pitch rather than off pitch, especially after his latest interview over the status of his latest contract deal.
Speaking about the club’s latest Premiership campaign he said, “We can’t escape the fact that, in the league, this season we haven’t been good enough. You ask the manager, or me, or indeed any of the players in our dressing room and they will all say exactly the same thing.”
Yes Stevie, if you also ask your fans, the fans of Chelsea, Manchester United or any other club, or even take look at the League table, they will also all say exactly the same thing - Liverpool were not good enough in the Premiership this season …or in any season in fact.

it is true that Gerrard is the best middfielder in england and the fact that he makes such a statement shows honesty and professionalism. am an ardent admirer of his and liverpool fc too. with him we and a few others like him we can get back to our glorious days in all competitions.

They were good enough to qualify for the Champions League again. And good enough to finish ahead of Everton again.
So were Everton not good enough in the league this year?

Reading that was such an annoying waste of time. If someone is in an interview and asked a question all they can do is respond to it. I don’t get why you would think it was worth commenting on. To be honest there have probably been times when Gerard has said silly stuff, you could have at least gone to the effort of finding one of them.

What a waste of time. This is the second piece of drivil from this ‘blogger’ (certainly not journalist) I’ve had the misfortune to read. A football player stating the obvious, and this is news to you Sack?? What age are you? Here’s a more difficult task. Find an interview where a footballer hasn’t stated the obvious. I think you’ll find that stating the obvious is common practice with footballers interacting with the press! Sack, is your first name Ball?
