U.S. To Bid For 2018 World Cup?
The United States Soccer Federation will decide whether or not they will attempt a bid to host the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
USSF President Sunil Gulati plans to meet with FIFA leadership in Toyko this weekend to discuss parameters for bidding to host the 2018 World Cup. Upon his return, "we will review the issues internally" and determine by the end of March whether to go forward with a formal bid, Gulati said.
From reading a few comments I can tell that there are many mixed messages as to whether or not the United States should EVER host a world soccer event. The US hosted the Women’s World Cup twice already and the World Cup a few years back. The fact of the matter is that American’s really despise soccer. They see it as a game only children play at school.
I don’t the United States should ever be allowed to host any soccer events ever again.

I think that the USA definitely should bid for the World Cup. They’ve proved that they can host major tournaments in the past, successfully at that and another tournament in the States would do wonders for the economy too, just think how bog football is now globally, never mind in 11 years.
It doesn’t really matter if Americans appreciate football either, the amount of South Americans heading North for the games, not to mention the Europeans (especially England) will surely be a welcomed boost for any City hosting a match.
Plus you can bet your bottom dollar the weather’s going to be good!
