What’s Worse Than Souness Managing Your Club?
Wolves fans might be about to find out as the formerly moustachioed lothario has been telling the local rag in Wolverhampton that he has a £20m offer on the table to buy Wolves from Sir Jack Hayward and is fully prepared to follow through with the purchase if given the green light.
I bet Mick McCarthy’s rear end is twitching with the prospect of an imminent Graeme Souness boardroom coup and the potential for micromanagement of the club from the boardroom that could then ensue. Chief executive Jez Moxey has denied that Souness is in line to buy the club and has said that the offer he and his backers made wasn’t enough to prise it out of the willing fingers of Sir Jack but Souness has always been a canny one when it comes to his own money affairs and I’m quite sure he’s well enough connected to bring a few million more to the table to help push the deal through.
Will his Midas touch from his Rangers days return if he is sitting at the top of the boardroom table rather than in the dugout or is the prospect of Graeme Souness buying over such a legendary club as Wolverhampton Wanderers just too much for their fans to take?

I’ve just heard the Daily Mirror’s headline for this story “Souness Dances With Wolves”. Sometimes words fail me (in a good way i.e. I wish I’d thought of that).

I think a takeover will be a good one for wolves. money will be great for us and souness will be a good chairman, he is a football man through and through and he will be better than i’m dragging this club down to save my arse Moxley… grrrrrr….. rant over….. i feel better for it
