World Cup 2006 Group C Preview: Holland - Players To Watch
Much admired by a few Premiership sides including Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United, Feyenoord’s Dirk Kuijt is expected to leave the Eredivisie this summer in pursuit of bigger challenges abroad. The free scoring centre forward usually plays on the right of a 4-3-3 formation for the Dutch national side with Ruud Van Nistelrooy favoured in the central spot but Kuijt can still use his strength and aggression to fashion chances for himself.
Rafael Van Der Vaart has enjoyed a renaissance at SV Hamburg since his move from Ajax last summer where he had been allowed to stagnate for a couple of years. Dangerous on the ball with a quick turn of pace, Van Der Vaart will provide much of the creativity in the midfield three and link up well with Arjen Robben down the left hand side.
