Arsneal new boy Tomas Rosicky has seen his career flounder in recent seasons as injuries and the dire financial mess at Borussia Dortmund have reduced the potential of the former European champions to compete adequately at the top level. His move to Arsene Wenger’s nearly men should help give his club career a kickstart and if he is in good mental form then the Czech Republic should benefit in Germany. Equally adept at scoring and creating goals for his teammates, the World Cup will be Rosicky’s big stage to shine on.
David Rozehnal has brought the Czech Republic’s previously suspect defence a new level of security and progression to the later stages will be owed in no small part to the tall Paris St Germain centre back. His aerial prowess will be invaluable at the back and at set pieces when going forward.
